The Manhattan Miniature Camera Club, founded in 1933, is for members to share their love of photography and to improve their skills and artistry. The word "miniature" in the name comes from the fact that in 1933, 35 mm cameras were considered miniature compared to the 21/4" x 21/4" twin lens reflex and the standard larger view cameras. While no one considers a 35 mm camera miniature today, the club holds on to its traditional name.
The club meets twice a month on Monday evenings. The members show their photographs in competition, with judges critiquing the pictures on the first Monday of the month and hear various presentations about photography on the third Monday. New members are always welcome. Anyone interested is invited to attend a meeting as a guest of the club. Lots of information about the club is at its website: http://mmcc-nyc.org. One may also write to membership@mmcc-nyc.org for the latest information about the next club meeting.
