Physical Environment

• Food Policy: Eating is permitted only in the Lounge area. Please clean up after eating and place food trash in Lounge trash bins. This will preserve Library materials and maintain a pleasant and vermin-free environment. If you would like to drink in the Library beverages in spill proof containers are permitted throughout the Library. Beverages that are not in spill proof containers are allowed only in the Lounge area. Weill Cornell Medical Library spill proof mug may be purchased for five dollars at the Circulation Desk.
• Restrooms: Restrooms are located on the lower level. At the bottom of the main staircase, turn right and then left towards the stacks for both the women's room and the men's room.
• Telephones: A house phone for answering pages is available near the Computer Commons across from the Information Desk on the main floor. The paging callback number is 6-6050. There is also a house phone in the Library Computer Room for emergency use only.You can also use these phones for outside calls by dialing 9 before the number. Please be courteous to your colleagues waiting to use the phone.
• Telephone Conversations (Cellular) : For your convenience the Library has designated the Circulation/Reference area at the northern end of the main floor as a telephone conversation zone. This includes the area by the windows immediately to one's right upon entering the Library. For more information, please read the Cellular Telephone Use Policy.
