| INTERLIBRARY SERVICES |
| Interlibrary Services provides information regardless of where
it is located. This information is obtained from other libraries.
The conditions of this service are set by the National Interlibrary
Loan Code, the Copyright Act, network and local agreements, and
the regulations of individual libraries. |

| ACCESS |
Anyone with a valid ID from NewYork Weill Cornell Medical
Center that has a Weill Cornell Medical Library barcode attached
to it, or anyone who is sponsored with full borrowing privileges
may utilize Interlibrary Services. The hours of services are
9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Loan Request Form twenty-four hours a day for requesting
an article, book or other item. |

| TRIPSAVER DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE |
Replacing traditional Interlibrary loan services the TripSaver
Document Delivery Service form should be utilized by registered
users who would like to submit a request for material that is
not available in the Weill Cornell Medical Library (WMC).
Replacing and enhancing traditional fee based Photocopy Service
the TripSaver
Document Delivery Service Form allows the library user to
take advantage of our timely and convenient TripSaver delivery
service. Requests for items available at WMC
Library may be filled for a fee of $5.00 per single request.
Single request is defined as less than 50 pages. Your request
will be processed by the following business day. |

| POLICY FOR TRIPSAVER CREDIT |
Patrons electing to use TripSaverCredit must have a current
Library record and a valid barcode. If you are not sure about
the status of your Library record, please enquire at the Circulation
Desk.
By choosing the "Charge to my personal Library account"
option on the online TripSaver form, you give the Library permission
to charge any fees incurred on your behalf, through photocopying
our material for you, to your personal Library
account. The current fee is $5 per request. A request is any
citation up to fifty pages.
As a service to our patrons, you may charge up to 10 TripSaver
requests, for a total of $50, to your personal Library account.
You will be billed for monies owed and may pay at the Circulation
Desk using cash or check. You may also pay by mail using check.
When paying by check make it payable to Weill Cornell Medical
Library. |

| MATERIALS AVAILABLE |
Books, theses, and some audiovisual materials can be borrowed.
Photocopies of non-circulating materials, primarily periodicals,
can be requested in accordance with the copyright law. Items
temporarily in use by other Weill Cornell Medical Library patrons
will not be ordered through Interlibrary Services. Personal
access for Weill Cornell Medical Library patrons to other libraries
can sometimes be arranged.
The Library provides interlibrary loans to support the research, scholarship and professional needs of its faculty, students and staff. Popular reading materials should be requested from your local public library. The closest public library is the 67th Street Branch located at 328 East 67th Street [between First Ave. and Second Ave.]. |

| TIME REQUIRED |
| Plan ahead when requesting materials. The time taken for a
request to be filled depends on several factors. The time to
receive a request is approximately one week for articles, but
can range from a few days to a few weeks depending on availability.
Feel free to check with Interlibrary Services concerning the
status of a request that you have submitted. |

| RUSH REQUESTS |
| Requests can often be filled sooner. Please speak directly
to the staff of Interlibrary Services in person or by phone
at (212) 746-6051 when you wish to place a rush request. |

| URGENT REQUESTS |
| Requests involving clinical emergencies or immediate patient
care can often be filled within hours by Fax transmission. |

| SUBMITTING REQUESTS |
All requests must be submitted in writing on forms supplied
by the Interlibrary Services Department and obtained at the
Circulation Desk, or online using the TripSaver-Interlibrary
Loan Request Form found on the web page. All information
asked for should be supplied in order to avoid delays. All items
should be checked in Tri-Cat (the online catalog) for availability before ordering them through
Interlibrary Services. For journal articles, also check the
Electronic Journals list. TripSaver requests where library user
selects a willingness to incur fees for items held by the WMC Library do not have to check TriCat (the
catalog) or the Electronic Journals page. Completed request
forms should be turned in at the Circulation Desk. Urgent and
rush requests should be submitted directly to the Interlibrary
Services office.
