Meeting Room Policy

The Weill Cornell Medical Library recognizes that Library users occasionally need a room for a meeting, training session or other special academic or work-related purpose.

The Library's Computer Room may be reserved by registered library users through completing the Online Library Room Reservation Form. Please submit the form at least two weeks prior to the date for which the room is needed. For urgent requests or questions, contact Education & Outreach at (212) 746-6061 or libed@med.cornell.edu.

The Computer Room

The Computer Room is open for individual computer use during Library hours, when scheduled classes are not in session. The computers are available to all users on a first-come-first served basis. Users are to take all belongings with them when they are finished or when leaving the Library at closing. Belongings left at a computer will not serve to "reserve" the computer for later use.

The Computer Room is equipped with 10 workstations providing networked Dell Computers, five additional chairs, one Hewlett Packard scanner, a projection screen, a typewriter, and an in-house telephone. Projection equipment can be reserved with the room. All workstations have 250 zip drives, floppy drives, printing capabilities, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, as well as Internet browsing software.

The Computer Room may be reserved at the discretion of the Library's Education & Outreach office for professional activities or classes, with preference being given to curriculum-related sessions. Current seating capacity for the room is 15. Requests for additional seating or other accommodations should be made in advance and cannot be guaranteed. Note: Larger training space at 575 Lexington is available through Information Technologies & Services.

Users who have special software needs and have reserved the room may request that software be temporarily downloaded on any or all Computer Room Workstations.

Beverages in approved, spill-proof containers are welcome. Food is not allowed.
